Heartland Food Corp. may collect IP addresses as part of our user statistics research. Although not personally identifiable, it is important to note that such information can be used in some cases to narrow the pool of users who could have used the IP down to specific geographic locations and to specific internet service providers, where information may be stored about the specific computer system using the IP at the time. In these cases, a household or business can be identified after some effort as the individual who visited a specific website.

We don't normally collect data on IP address to such evasive lengths, nor would we, with the exception of compliance with a beneficial legal process, such as in the case of illegal activity (site break-ins, email account forgeries, etc.) where compliance with legal procedures and further research into the identity of the suspect will result in our site's continued safety and privacy for the rest of its users. During normal operations, we will only use IP addresses as a way to individualize anonymous users in our efforts to track which pages of our site get used most frequently, and to identify and improve any usability issues highlighted by such statistics in our ongoing web research.

 Once we receive your personal information through our contact form, it is stored off-line and is considered confidential. Our company will never sell or give this information to any other company or marketing organization.

It is also important to note that while in transit, a skillful third-party could intercept any information you deliver through email or web forms, and that such an interception would be out of our hands and unknown to us. This can be true even when websites use encryption, and although such interception is illegal, the damage done to the individual can be substantial. For this reason, we ask that you not use our website contact form or email to send us credit card numbers, passwords, or any other confidential information.

Coincidentally, we will never ask for these numbers through online channels, nor will we use online accounts for anything other than business transactions. It is also important to realize that email accounts can be compromised at either end by a determined intruder. If you ever receive a request from us for confidential information online, or if you receive any message uncharacteristic of our company policy, such as spam, forward the message to us immediately and we will take the appropriate actions to discover the source and prosecute the offender to the fullest extent of the law.

Terms of Disclosure
 We will send personally identifiable information about you to other companies or people only when: (1) companies who work on behalf of Heartland Food Corp., in order to provide a product or service you request, need to know identifiable information to provide such services. (This includes internet service providers and domain registration organizations.) (2) we respond to subpoenas, court orders, or internal legal processes; or (3) we find that your actions on our web sites and/or networks violate the Heartland Food Corp.
