Dave Dixon
Dave Dixon, Chief Operating OfficerDavid G. Dixon is Chief Operations
Officer of Heartland Food Corp., a franchise operator of Burger King Restaurants. Prior
to joining Heartland Food Corp., Dixon was the President and a franchisee owner, operator of 116 Hardee
restaurants in multiple states.
Dixon began his career at McDonald’s Restaurants as a team member. In 1974, Dixon worked for Chart House,
Burger King Restaurants as a General Manager.
In 1980 Dixon left Burger King to pursue a career with Dairy Queen where he remained until 1987. David was
recognized as a stellar performer and a leader when offered the opportunity; he accepted and joined Costal Mart,
Inc. as an Area Sales Manager. During David’s tenor with Costal Mart, Inc., he was recognized as someone who
understood that hard work and mastering the art of managing people was a formula for success and was again offered
the position of Zone Sales Manager and later Trainer for 570 convenience stores that operated in 23 states.
David was recognized in the industry as a proven leader focused on operational excellence and in 1994 he was
asked to join AmeriKing Corporation a franchisee owner/operator of 384 Burger King Restaurants, as a District Manager
for 122 of the restaurants located in the Chicago, Illinois.
David accelerated the restaurants’ transformation, instilling accountability, increased productivity and quality at every
level of its operations. David was soon appointed to the role of Managing Director, overseeing the development and opening
of an additional 30 new stores. David paved the way for AmeriKing in terms of Restaurant profitability, Mystery Shops,
Customer Service and Food Quality. David was instrumental in training and building teams. District Managers, Directors
of Operations and Managing Directors were developed and grew into other parts of the country under David’s leadership.
David joined Heartland Food Corp. in 2003 to help guide and analyze the company’s strategic direction and plan for acquiring
distressed Burger King Restaurants. David ensured that the top priority, company operations was the focus for all of the
restaurants, working together to motivate all employees on the common goal.
David’s guidance and ability to direct changes as needed helped the company meet its goals of successful and profitable restaurants.
David has more than 30 years experience in the restaurant business and is well respected as someone who has extensive knowledge in
Marketing, Training, Operations and people development.
Dixon is a native Chicagoan and a graduate of the University of Texas. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business. Dixon is
also involved in many charitable organizations that help promote the well-being of all mankind and serves on several not-for-profit
organizations. Dixon is an active member of the Lions Club, his church and local schools in the community.
